Portugal - everyone is having problems!

ANA DRAGO - SPEAKS OUT ON PORTUGAL'S PROBLEMS!

Ana Drago - speaking out for the people of Portugal in this time of BIG crisis! making a small difference well said!
Being from Portugal well living here for years i am sad to see the results of what is happening to such a beautiful country with so many talented children and adolescents that want to succeed but have no future its not that they don't want there are no chances given to them! no jobs on the market nothing you want to study you come out working for a supermarket ,cafe or bar. so you spend spend spend and when you come out you didn't get further than others who haven't gone many are leaving the country to make a better life for them self and i support that as everyone deserves a chance at success including my self and here it is impossible for the time being! the country will end up losing ...

Belize : Dangriga

In Dangriga i had the privilege to meet an amazing family which i stayed at theirs and it so happened to be that there where i had stayed they were also involved in bettering the surroundings and well being of their children and adolescents. They were a bed and breakfast owner but also a teacher. The days we were their were not many so they had sent me a email regarding their projects and PJC will be willing to help this project out and keep in contact with photographs of the amelioration .

 REACH BELIZE FOUNDATION
REACH BELIZE FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization registered in Belize.
The name is the acronym for Recreation, Education, Athletics, and Community Health. The goal of the Foundation is to develop strong and vibrant communities in southern Belize through the development of individuals and communities in the areas of Education, Sports and Primary (and Preventative) Health Care.
The organization has as its Vision:
“REACH will be the mechanism to promote advocacy and empowerment for the communities in the Stann Creek District.”
And as its Mission:
“To reach the residents of the Stann Creek District in a comprehensive manner through local and international partnerships, providing opportunities in areas of education athletics, community development and health for holistic advancement and empowerment.”
While possessing most of the resources of the country, southern Belize has traditionally lagged behind in economic development and health. Tourism and Agriculture, the two largest income earners in the country account for almost 80% of the economic activity in the two districts yet they still have some of the highest unemployment and poverty statistics in the country. The organization was born out of the need to provide leadership and support to communities in the south of Belize to help them to take better advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. This starts with healthy, educated communities. It is the aim of REACH to provide opportunities for students from kindergarten to high school and to assist them in reaching their full potential. With a 23% unemployment rate among young people, it is necessary to find alternatives for youth with too much time on their hands. Sports will also be developed as a means of burning off youthful energies.
Finally, a healthy community is a strong community. REACH Foundation seeks to promote Primary Health Care in southern Communities. At present the health care system in the area suffers from a lack of certain basic services. REACH will promote primary and preventative health care at the community level in an effort to reduce the dependence on and the visits to health care facilities. Basic concepts such as proper nutrition, good personal hygiene and proper post natal and infant care will be promoted in conjunction with health professionals who live in the area.
In this way it is believed that REACH can fulfill its Mission and improve the lives of Belizeans in the Stann Creek and Toledo Districts.

Belize: Belize city

This is another orphanage in Belize city that was also not planned there were quite a few that were not listed online so i could not organize to see them all which i was a lil sad about but we were able to swing by and visit this place too this place was probably the worse from all of the orphanage and its also run by the government but they dont help much they take more for them then give so its a big problem they need everything and its small for the amount of kids their are their are about 60 kids in this place! alot of children with speaking problems attitude swings as have been in very bad situations , unfortunately here we could not take any photos of the children as they were very scared that something would happen to their children so this is all we could get and as the main director was not present. but i know that this place needs a bit of everything so we will c what we will donate.

Belize: Lady Vill/Belize City

This was our first orphanage visited in Belize, Again very nice people amazing children very poor though and problematic this orphanage was broken into 7 times in 2012 people stealing from the children in need so it goes to show not even that kind of respect is given meaning the whole country is fighting for survival ...they has the same response we will take what you want to give they will be needing a better security system so PJC will see what can be done in terms of that and also some donations for vitamins etc....

Again the rooms in there pictures seem not so bad but at the location its alot worse ...

Mexico: Chetumal

This is the second orphanage we stopped at in Mexico ,this orphanage was not planned to visit but as we had to pass through chetumal to get to belize we stopped but the orphange in Cozumel told us about this one but this one is different the other one was private this one was built buy the government so these children had a better living situation still also had the same issues and backgrounds they were very friendly these photos were not suppose to be taken as you will see in the next few orphanages it was difficult some i could only take pictures of the location and rooms as they didnt want their children exposed on the internet which i understand but as the same time we need some things and some memories of the beautiful faces we met along the way so here you go . The same goes for this orphanage they let us chose the promise of dontaion emails will be writen to them soon they needed basic things as uniforms as all mexican schools have uniform.

Mexico: Cozumel Island 1st orphanage

This was the first orphanage on the trip: visited in Cozumel island of of Mexico coast. it is located in a very area most of the children were in either abusive families or abandoned by them... the people at the orphanage were very friendly and welcoming we brought the children a bag of treats and spoke to them for a while getting to know then in this orphanage i am happy to know the all the children have a sponsored parent somewhere that sometimes come and help out by doing volunteer work at the orphanage, they had most necessities but still a poor environment by the photos taken the place looks not so bad but when at the location you can tell that still alot needs to be done, this orphanage did not want a promise of donation instead it said we will except what ever you are willing to donate so i wrote down a few things which they were lacking and immensely in need of and once donation will be done will keep in contact  to see how the children are moving along as they get older.

PJC 1st visit to : Central America

Central America :
This is the first time PJC association has traveled to this side of the world usually always focusing on Asia (Nepal & Cambodia) in witch Nepal sponsored a girl through school and in Cambodia Building a Primary School . This time went to a part of a world with a different mentality and maybe a little more dangerous as the beliefs and way of life is very different alot of child trafficking is done and abusive relationships, as Mexico can be looked at as a place of luxury in some aspects but that is only in few parts as Mexico has alot of poverty which may get forgotten about and as for Belize , main land Belize its only poverty and violent behavior which makes it unstable and not safe every week something happens either shootings ,rapes and this is with out knowing what happens behind closed doors at home. Belize is also mainly only recognized by the outsiders from their beautiful islands but we took a look in land and visited a few orphanages and schools and some projects which some locals were trying to put together to help the children in the community and PJC will help out with this.
